USDA FACTS program students visit MESA Lab

Students from the USDA FACTS program visited MESA lab on 12th July, 2024. They explored the ongoing projects with interactive Question and Answer Sessions with the researchers at MESA lab. Discussed research projects were Walabot Radar based material classification, Deep learning model trained for Methane Detection using AVIRIS-NG data, wind vectors deriverd from TROPOMI data, GPS data logger with CO2 and wind sensors. Students also got chance to have hands on experience with flying the drones in the indoor cage setup.

One of the students from the program is joining the MESA lab starting next week as an undergraduate researcher. We are grateful to Professor Collen Naughton for leading this program. Shiang Cao, Sachin Giri, Jonathan Gonzalez, Marlon Nick Romero, Andrew Amavizca and Brandwon Liwang are the MESA lab researchers who coordinated this session.
