MESA Lab at the Merced Vernal Pools and Grassland Reserve

May 2, 2014

Dedication Ceremony for the Merced Vernal Pools and Grassland Reserve

The MESA Lab was invited to be a part of the dedication ceremony for the Merced Vernal Pools and Grassland Reserve held on April 30th, 2014.  The 6,500 acre Reserve is home to the most extensive vernal pool landscape in the state and home to endangered fairy shrimp, tiger salamanders and a host of songbirds, hawks and owls.  Over the next several years, the MESA Lab will be flying UASs over the reserve to create high resolution maps and imagery to assist in research and environmental management.
