Innovate to Grow - Event Info 2013 (Capstone FDR Day)

May 17, 2013 - 2:30pm to May 18, 2013 - 12:00am

A New Spin

The INNOVATE TO GROW event is putting a new spin on traditional engineering capstone projects and on the student experience at UC Merced. Through the Innovation and Design Clinic, teams of engineering and management students collaborate with partner organizations and industries to define problems and discover solutions that improve the quality of life, from designing solar energy systems to reducing noise in neonatal intensive care units. During the inaugural Innovate to Grow 2012 event on May 9, 2012 our student teams presented their project results and demonstrated their innovations to a jury of industry and community representatives. They used posters, elevator pitches, videos and presentations to make their case.

We hope to distribute $50-100k in prize funds to students and teams in support of their education and in support of launching enterprises associated with their innovations.
