Summer 2017 ME190 "Unmanned Aerial Systems" course now open for registration

February 23, 2017

Summer 2017 ME190 "Unmanned Aerial Systems" course now open for registration.

Professor YangQuan Chen will offer this course for the first time in the first session of Summer in 2017. It was first offered in Fall 2016 with 45 students registered and all passed. More than 10 students passed the FAA sUAS Knowledge Test ( Pilot Certificate with a small UAS Rating), also known as Drone Pilot License. [Here is a list of all UC Merced students who passed the test and obtained the drone pilot license]

Click here for one-page course flyer (PDF). Make sure that you understand the time commitment to earn 4 credits in this lab-intensive course in 6 weeks. Also please make sure to check this site http://agtech.ucmerced.edu/ for a possible $2,000 internship award time-synchronized for these 6 weeks (May 22nd to June 30th, 2017). This USDA sponsored internship program will continue till 2020. We hope our ME190 UAS course will be offered regularly in the coming years in the first 6-week summer session. This summer course is part of the UAS4STEM effort.
