Congratulations to Derek Hollenbeck for the NSF NRT award 2020-2021
It is a great news to MESA Lab that our senior Ph.D. candidate and MESA Lab Co-Manager, Derek Hollenbeck has been awarded (again) the NSF IAS NRT award for a full year from Fall 2020 to Summer 2021. He will continue to develop the digital twin framework for methane sensing using drones. He will also actively explore the use of FC in general questions of "source seeking" as outlined in http://mechatronics.ucmerced.edu/fcss
Most recent talk by Derek at MESA Lab Weekly Seminar series (one hour+): "UAV Gas Sensing, a Digital Twin, and PET (POSIM Experimental Testbed)" (4/6/2020) which was very well received.
