MESA LAB welcomes 5 new members recently arrived!

Prof. Dr. Jun Chu, (Ph.D. 2005 NWPU) CSC Visiting Professor from Institute of Computer Vision, Nanchang Hangkong University, Nanchang, Jiangxi, P.R. China will work at MESA LAB for one year on real time vision based tracking and multispectrual image processing in precision agriculture applications. She is the director of ICV and published more than 40 journal papers. Welcome! Her office is in UC Merced Castle Research Facility Room #22 (MESA LAB main room).

Ms. Lu Liu,CSC Exchange Ph.D. student from Northeastern University, China will work at MESA LAB for 2 years on fractional order stochastic control and networked control systems (NCS). CSOIS SmartWheel NCS Platform will be used. Welcome! Her office is in UC Merced Castle Research Facility Room #103.

Prof. Dr. Jianwu Dang, (Ph.D. 2004 NWPU) CSC Visiting Scholar from Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, China will work at MESA LAB for one year on fractional order signal processing techniques for social and economical complex signals. His research interests include the study of numerical analyzing methods of fractal theory and its application in signal processing; the study of novel methods on signal and information processing; theory and methods on locating and tracking of things; the technology of the Internet of Things and its application and smart home. Welcome! His office is in UC Merced Castle Research Facility Room #103.

Dr. Mahmoud Abdelhamid (Ph.D. 2014 Clemens) joined UC Merced in Jan 2015. He works 50% with UC Solar and 50% with MESA Lab mainly on solar energy, electrical vehicles and sustainable transportation. Welcome! His office is in UC Merced Castle Research Facility Room #120.

Mr. Sina Dehghan joined UC Merced as a Ph.D. student of ME from Jan. 2015. His thesis work will be on precision temperature uniformity control related topics for semiconductor etching industry. Welcome! His office is in UC Merced Castle Research Facility Room #30.
